What's in Le Bon Miel's organic beeswax food wrap?

Updated: Jan 3, 2023

ORGANIC COTTON

Our fabric is created using 100% certified organic cotton in the manufacture of the base cloth and eco-responsible low impact dyes for printing and dying, working closely with mills that are committed to ethical and responsible conduct: respecting the rights of all individuals, devotion to sustained social compliance, and accountability to the environment.

100% PURE BEESWAX

Beeswax was once something every household had on hand. Beeswax was not only used to make candles, but it also was used as a lubricant, a water-proof, or ingredient in furniture polish, cosmetics, or home-made medicinal preparations. Today’s rediscovered beeswax is for these same purposes. We have small blocks for the homemaker to lubricate sewing needles and thread, ease a sticky drawer, window, or tool. Larger blocks are available for waterproofing your boots, clothesline, or fishing line. Try it in that heirloom recipe for lip balm, furniture polish, or floor polish your Grandmother may have given you. This is a genuine All-American product from Southern Appalachia beekeepers.

ORGANIC JOJOBA OIL

Our jojoba is expeller-pressed (without any added heat so it’s as cold-pressed as jojoba gets) from a single crop year seed harvest. It is very different from commonly available commercial grades of jojoba because we source directly from our cooperative of jojoba farms and control the quality from seed to bottle to your home or business, ensuring it is the best available.

We also have the seed pressed to optimize quality, not maximize yield, for what we call our signature first-press for a difference you can feel. All you’ll find in the bottle is our first-press, unrefined 100% pure golden jojoba. Pesticide-Free, 100% Vegan, Cruelty Free, Nonallergenic and

Paraben Free.

RESPONSIBLY SOURCED PINE RESIN

Dried chunks of pine resin (pine rosin) are commonly used in making beeswax wraps. They are actual chunks of tree resin that have been cleaned and dried. You only need a small amount and they will store well for a long time.
